The Blueprint for Success
In the pursuit of a healthy and efficient run, it’s essential to go beyond the pavement pounding. Let’s talk muscle engagement, joint support, and overall wellness. My training plan is a holistic blend of Pilates and running, a synergy that aims not only for endurance but also for the strength and stability that Pilates uniquely offers.
Running Routine
I’ve mapped out a 6-day training plan, balancing the intensity and variety needed for marathon prep:
- 3x Runs per Week: Variety is the spice of life, right? Switching between short fast runs, casual long runs, and energizing intervals keeps things interesting while building stamina.
Pre-Run Activation Routine
Before hitting the pavement, I swear by a set of activating exercises to prepare the body:
- Rotations
- Hip flexor stretch in a lunge
- High lunge pulses
- Crunches
- Single leg stretch
- Criss-cross

Post-Run Recovery
The journey doesn’t end at the finish line. My post-run routine is a crucial component for a swift recovery. I dedicate time to stretching my hip flexors, hamstrings, and spine, following a curated video in our library. Additionally, I incorporate fascia release routines to stimulate blood circulation, promoting a faster recovery process.
The Pilates Reformer Magic
Three times a week, I incorporate Pilates Reformer sessions into my routine. Why? Because a strong core, flexible legs, and a stable pelvis make all the difference in a runner’s world.
